Farm Arts Collective operates an agri-cultural center on Willow Wisp Organic Farm in Damascus, PA. Our activities intersect the life sustaining practices of farming, art, food, and ecology to build a creative and resilient cultural ecosystem. Founded by theatre artist and farmer Tannis Kowalchuk, the collective presents theatre performances, farm workshops and tours, literary events, music, and programs that address important issues from climate change to social justice and human rights. The collective has cultivated a professional performance ensemble of over twenty local actors, writers, musicians, and designers that create devised performances, including our flagship summer event, “Dream on the Farm”.
Performances
Farm Arts Collective creates and produces original devised performances in a collaborative process with its resident ensemble. The company performs at home and tours with a performance repertory that includes Dream on the Farm, Decompositions, Alice in Scienceland - an all-ages science edutainment piece. Farm Arts Collective also hosts the work of guest artists at its theatre.
