Workshop: Climate Change & Our Diet

Please join us on Saturday, February 20 from 11:00am to 12:00 pm for a FREE (donations greatly appreciated) virtual presentation on “Climate Change & Our Diet” presented by The Climate Reality Project, The Philadelphia Chapter and Boyer Sudduth Environmental Consultants. We will first hear about the climate crisis from Chapter member and Damascus, PA resident, Bob Ellis, followed by Mary Ann Boyer’s presentation: “More Plants, Less Waste: How Our Diet Affects Climate Change” with Sustainability Intern, Samantha Friborg.

We are excited to have you join us! This event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the climate crisis and what we can do to collectively and individually to address this issue, starting with our diets.
Bob Ellis is a self-employed construction management consultant for commercial and multi-family renovation and new construction projects. He is an active member of the Leadership Corps of the Philadelphia and Southeastern PA Chapter of the Climate Reality Project. Bob continues to be optimistic and motivated to spread the word about the Climate Crisis, in hopes of encouraging as many individuals as possible to get involved/participate on some level in the work so badly needed to reverse global warming.
Mary Ann Boyer is co-founder of Boyer Sudduth Environmental Consultants that helps schools and businesses adopt more environmentally sustainable practices in their operations and institutional behavior. Mary Ann taught science for 16 years. Prior to teaching, she served as a Presidential Management Fellow and environmental scientist at EPA Region 3 in Philadelphia. She holds a masters in Environmental Science from Yale School of the Environment. Mary Ann is a Climate Reality Leadership Corps Member
(July 2020, Virtual Global training) of the Philadelphia and Southeastern PA Chapter.
Samantha Friborg is a sustainability intern with Boyer Sudduth Environmental Consultants and a junior at Yale University majoring in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Sustainability & Natural Resource. Currently, Samantha is on a gap year due to coronavirus. She has been a journalist for the Borgen Project, a non-profit working on poverty alleviation. At Yale, Samantha is a member of the track and cross country teams.
